Commercial Camping Tents
There are broadly three categories. Cheap tents.. which are never designed to withstand playa conditions but with a little ingenuity can be coaxed into surviving the week. Possibly multiple weeks. And expensive tents, of which there are expensive tents that can't handle the weather and break, and expensive tents that can handle the weather but are merely ruined.Shade Structures offer a great way to make small tents much more comfortable.
If you intend to sleep in a tent then bring something else as a wind break and camp in a cheap tent. Coleman tents cost very little new and almost nothing used.
Cheap
Many, many people use Coleman tents. They offer you a degree of protection from the sun, a little privacy, and are cheap. They can be durable. They offer little or no protection from the heat, wind, or dust.
Expensive
Do not bring an expensive tent to Burning Man. It will be destroyed on all fronts. The playa will eat away at any waterproofing your equipment has (that includes sleeping bags!) and your formerly expensive tent will be thrashed.
