Food waste can get nasty and smelly if packed into trash bags or other containers. There's an easy way to dispose of it though: dry it! The general principle is to leave it in a container where it can easily dry out. It can then be burned or more easily packed for removal. Some good ways of leaving your food waste out for drying include using a mesh laundry bag or cutting the top from a water jug and poke lots of holes in it.
Also, cooking and washing dishes tends to produce grey water full of food waste. The food waste itself can be filtered out before the gray water is added to an evaporation pond. For more info on how to do this, see the article on evaporation ponds.
