Earplugs

From Burnwiki, a Burning Man Wiki & Brain Dump

Jump to: navigation, search

The sound at Burning Man never stops. You're also camping in close proximity to about 40 other people. If you need quiet to sleep or relax, bring earplugs! All earplugs are rated for a certain number of decibels of sound reduction. Find the ones with the highest decibel rating. If you're going to be using them for sleeping, it's tempting to get the flat squishy type that fits into the outer ear, but these aren't very effective.

One trick for improving the way earplugs to reduce sound is to dampen them before inserting them into the ear canal. This create a better seal, blocking out more sound. You should always use clean fingers and a sterile solution to do this (saline eyedrops or saline nasal spray work well) to eliminate the chance of an ear infection.

Bring more earplugs than you think you'll need and keep them handy near your bed. You can gift them, but you're more than likely to just lose a few, or have to replace them at night.
