Black Rock City

The temporary city in the Black Rock desert; the population approaches 40,000 on Burn Night. The Man is in the geometric centre of the city.
Radial streets are on a clock-face numbering, starting from 2:00 to 10:00 in half-hour increments.
Concentric streets start from the Esplanade then outwards alphabetically from A to H.
At night, the Esplanade resembles a carnival midway, lit up with theme camps and passing mutant vehicles.
Out in the "deep playa", past the 10:00 and 2:00 sound camps, art installations may be found.
Remember where you're camped, and know where you are in the city. Navigation becomes more difficult after The Man, the central navigation point, burns and falls over on Burn Night, and pranksters steal the street signs.
